Company History
Gigi Fernandez Tennis was created in 2011 when Master Doubles with Gigi concept was announced on November 9th, 2011. The first clinic was at The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, March 2012. We had 3 participants! “When you at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try…again.” We have since conducted over 400 clinics and taught over 3,500 students how to play winning doubles, proving once again that persistence is the path to success.
Over 10,000 students have learned The Gigi Method Online since it launched in May 2017. Hundreds have joined the Gigi Method Classroom at Doubles.TV and receive weekly lessons to help them understand and improve their doubles game. Over 300 players have participated in multi-day camps in Tampa, The US Open and the BNP Paribas tournament in Indian Wells, California. We offer boutique experiences to the Laver Cup and the Grand Slam events.
We Road Map to Mental Dominance and 10 Steps to a Perfect Volley are available online to help students the mental concepts that helped Gigi win 17 Grand Slam titles. You can learn the tricks that helped Gigi go from nearly quitting the game four years into her career, because she couldn’t handle the stress of competition, to becoming one of the fiercest competitors in the history of the game.

May 2014 – Gigi launches Travel Experiences by offering trips to the French Open. Other trips have included Indian Wells Paribas Open, Cancun Tennis Experience and Puerto Rico cultural experience.
June 2015 – After attending numerous clinics throughout the country and witnessing the need for high level doubles instruction, Gigi decides she needs to become more vocal about doubles instruction.
Summer 2015 USTA Commercial featuring Gigi and her kids and promoting Youth Tennis and participation among Hispanic hits the waves. Click here to view commercial.
September 2015 – While attending the USPTA National Convention, Gigi hears world renowned nutrition & fitness expert, best selling author, television personality, and speaker, Marc MacDonald deliver a speech about “Growing your Brand”. She decides to share her knowledge of doubles with the entire world.
September 2015 – Gigi begins to write The Gigi Method (TGM).
October 2015 – Gigi Presents The Gigi Method for the first time at The Tennis Congress. It is very well received.
February/March 2016 – Gigi speaks at various USPTA Regional Conventions about The Gigi Method (San Diego, Texas, New England) Conference attendees love the content and concepts delivered.
March 2016 – Tennis Express becomes a sponsor.
June 2016 – First Doubles Boot Camp with Dr. Mark Kovacs takes place at Chelsea Piers, CT. First time Gigi delivers the entire Gigi Method to a group of tennis enthusiast. Event is a huge success.
July 2016 – Gigi engages Octagon to help expand Gigi’s vision for the Company. The company name is changed from Master Doubles with Gigi to Gigi Fernandez Tennis. (GFT) New logo and collateral materials are created.
August 2016 – GFT hires Patty Fernández-Gordon as Director of Sales and Marketing to help grow the company.
September 2016 – Head/Penn becomes a major sponsor of Gigi Fernandez Tennis
July 2017 – Gigi partners with Grand Slam Tennis Tours to offer unique and exceptional trip to the Grand Slams. Trips to Wimbledon and the French Open are planned.
July 2017 – Gigi moves to Florida so she can focus her time on the online business and welcoming players to VIP camps in Florida.
October 2017 – Doubles.TV, the online portal that host all of Gigi’s doubles knowledge, is launched
November 2017 – The Gigi Method version 2 is filmed.
January 2018 – Gigi Partners with the USTA to offer camps at the National Campus. Camps take place in January, February, March and April.
April 2018 The Gigi Method – version 2 is released
August 2018 – Gigi offers The Gigi Method Camps during the US Open. 2 Camps sell out.
September 2019 – GFT Travel branches out and offers a trip to The Laver Cup. Event participating enjoyed 4 days in Chicago watching the Laver Cup and even got to meet Roger Federer!
November 2019 – Gigi Introduces “Let’s Hang at a Slam” logo and continue to offer boutique travel experiences to the Grand Slams.
December 2019 – Deb Smith is hired as Managing Director to help with customer service.
January 2019 – The Road Map to Mental Dominance product is released to rave review, giving tennis players of all level rare insight into the mind of a multi time Grand Slam Champion
February 2019 – Gigi Partners with Innsbrook, a Salamander Resort to offer 3 days camps on clay for larger groups. For the first camp she welcome a 16 player team from Durham, NC. These camps go on to become a huge success, always selling out.
March 2019– Gigi offers 2 day camps during the Indian Wells Tournament. Both camps sell out.
April 2019– Costa Rica Immersion VIP week long camp sells out and is a unique experience.
June 2019 – More clients who want to “Hang at a Slam” attend the French Open
July 2019 – Wimbledon trip is a huge success. Participants watch Roger, Rafa and Serena from the best seats in the house, escorted by a past champion!
August 2019– US Open Camps are a huge hit!
September 2019– 22 folks attend the Laver Cup in Geneva. Gigi makes it a goal to bring a Gigi Method Clinic to all 50 states. Gigi adds clinics in Virginia, Maryland and Wisconsin for 2019 and Montana, Washington, Oregon, Boise, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, South Carolina, Alabama, New Mexico and Michigan for 2020.
October 2019 – US Open Camps are a huge hit!
September 2019 – Three Gigi Method Camps in Tampa all sell out including the first Mini- Camp offered at half price
November 2019– Three Clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area are sold out. Amy Warren is hired as Director of Sales and Client Ambassador
December 2019– The Necker Cup, Richard Branson’s annual Pro-Am party in his private island in the British Virgin Islands, exceeds all expectations.
January 2020 – Gigi launches Camps with Legends including camps with Martina Navratilova and Tracy Austin Puerto Rico VIP camp goes on despite Earthquakes affecting the island.
March 2020 – Coronavirus Pandemic hits the world
July – October 2020 – Despite the pandemic, Gigi offers smaller camps. The camps are socially distanced and responsibly conducted.
November 2020 – First ever Gigi Method Couples Only camp takes place at Innisbrook
January 2021 – Gigi launches The Gigi Method Licensing Program with 2 pilot clubs. The Tennis Center Sand Point in Seattle, WA and the New Canaan Racquet Club in CT are delivering Gigi Method clinics to their members. The clinics are delivered by certified Gigi Method pros following the wildly successful Gigi Method program and curriculum. andh and
